Vizag: YSR Congress Party on Wednesday demanded a CBI inquiry into the one-lakh-acre land grab in Vishakapatnam.
Addressing the media in Vizag, Rajya Sabha Member P Vijay Sai Reddy said AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is trying to get away with a ritualist inquiry by a special investigation team into the biggest land grabbing scam in the history of Vishakapatnam.
"The gobbling up of one lakh acres of land has damaged the brand image of Vishakapatnam," he said and added that Chandrababu is trying to save his ministers and their relatives involved in the scam.
When the officials themselves say thousands of acres were gobbled up, the CM is saying that only 244 acres were involved. This is ridiculous and misleading, the YSRCP leader said.
Stating that Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao's son-in-law Prashanth was directly involved in the scam, Vijay Sai Reddy expressed apprehension that the probe team would not be able to conduct an impartial inquiry.
