KCR, Naidu should sort out Srisailam imbrogilo

Hyderabad, Oct 24: YSR Congress has asked the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states to sit across the negotiating table to settle the imbroglio of utilizing water from Srisailam left bank for power generation as it would badly effect the arid Rayalaseema region if the water level depletes.
“Our party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has written a letter to the Prime Minister Narender Modi to this effect apprising him of the situation and the impending danger of the falling water levels which will adversely affect the Rayalaseema region,” Party MLA Srikanth Reddy told reporters here on Friday.
It is time that the two Chief Minister should sit across the table and sort out things in the interest of the people and should shun from personal ego, he said and slammed Chandrababu Naidu for allowing things to come to such a pass. It will be a setback to the arid Rayalaseema region which will lead to acute drinking water shortage if the situation is not addressed to promptly.
Chandrababu Naidu has been focusing on self promotion and real estate deals instead of core public issues and it is very sad to note that the two Chief Ministers are daggers drawn on the Srisailam water issue.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in his letter has asked the Prime Minister to intervene in averting the crisis as the water level at Srisailam now stands at 859 feet and if dips to 854 feet the crisis will further deepen if water is drawn for power generation, he said.
