Kadapa bandh, a huge success

Kadapa: Kadapa district resonated with the slogan Kadapa Ukku - Andhrula Hakku (Kadapa steel is Andhras' right) as a complete bandh was observed in response to the call given by YSR Congress Party and Left Parties demanding the steel plant. Participating in the bandh, people said that the steel plant will change the fortunes of the people in this region, but unfortunately the political parties were unconcerned about the development of Rayalaseema region.

The general public which supported the district bandh call and participated right from early morning, expressed their anger over the government's indifferent attitude towards establishing steel plant.

Speaking to media on the occasion of bandh in Kadapa, YSRCP MLA Srikanth Reddy said this bandh was intended to teach a lesson to TDP and BJP. He pointed out that BJP had completely forgotten about the promises made during bifurcation. The agitation in demand for the steel plant will definitely affect both the parties, he said and added that to divert the issue they were blaming each other. He demanded both the state and central governments initiate the process of establishing steel plant. People had pinned hopes on the industry and this was reason everyone supported the bandh call, he added.

Later former YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy said the fight would continue until all the promises made in AP Bifurcation Act are fulfilled. He called upon the youth to join hands in the fight for steel plant and intensify the protest. It was YSRCP which has been relentlessly fighting for all the promises made during bifurcation to be fulfilled, while TDP was involved in misleading protests, he added.
