New Delhi: YSRCP MP V.Vijay Sai Reddy demanded the central Government to dutifully grant special status to AP. He reminded hoe the central cabinet had already made resolution for sanctioning special status. He spoke during the discussion on special status in the Rajya Sabha. He addressed the central cabinet minister and mentioned two points in particular.
Mentioning Article 280, Vijay Sai Reddy stated that the 14th Finance Commission had only offered suggestions and had not demanded for following them. He said that it was the Government that had to decide if special status should be given or not. He added that the 11 states that had been given the state till now, had been given by the Government's decision alone. The central cabinet had made its resolution on the 1st of March in 2014 and the Government was responsible to implement it, he remarked.
Vijay Sai Reddy took the opinion of YSR Congress Party regarding special status to the notice of the house and made his point. He indicated that YSRCP was the only party fighting committedly for the special status of the state and the fight would continue until the status was achieved.
