I Will Fight For Special Status Till My Last Breath: YS Jagan

AP Leader of the Opposition In Andhra Pradesh Legislative assembly and YSRCP President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that without honesty, integrity and trustworthiness, political leaders will turn out like AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He said that Chandrababu was shedding crocodile tears on the subject of special category status to Andhra Pradesh. YS Jagan pointed out that TDP MPs continued to be ministers in the central cabinet and questioned whether the budget was approved without their consent.

Commencing the 83rd day of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra from Dundigam Cross Roads, YS Jagan interacted with thousands of men, women and children, as his walkathon reached Bodagudipadu in Kavali constituency, where he addressed a massive public gathering. He criticised Chandrababu Naidu for his corrupt four-year rule, which brought untold suffering to all sections of society.

The YSRCP chief said that it was imperative that people of Andhra Pradesh fight to secure special category status. YS Jagan declared that he would fight for special category status for Andhra Pradesh till his last breath. He pointed out that the people of Telangana had struggled for years to gain a separate state. “We need to fight for special category status along similar lines”, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu had bragged that investments totalling Rs.10 lakh crores had come to Vizag. Chandrababu also claimed that lakhs of unemployed youth have secured jobs. In reality, it had got only Rs.4500 crores of investments up to December 31, 2015 and only 10,000 crores been invested till the end of the year 2017. In spite of the facts staring at him to the contrary, Chandrababu claims that lakhs of crores worth investments had come to the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh and through his tall claims tries to deceive gullible people, he said.

When Chandrababu visits Singapore he says that he will turn Andhra Pradesh into Singapore, when he goes to Korea, he says that the state will become a Korea and when he goes to Japan he brags that he will turn Amravati into Japan. YS Jagan pointed out that each time Chandrababu went overseas it cost the state exchequer 300 to 400 crores. Why the AP CM uses only chartered flights is something he must explain to the people, he said. The YSRCP chief further said that the purpose behind Chandrababu Naidu’s overseas trips was to stash away his ill-gotten wealth abroad.

YS Jagan also said that what Chandrababu Naidu has done over the past four years is there for all to see. All of a sudden Chandrababu Naidu seemed to show great concern for the state, he observed. No section of society was happy with Chandrababu’s rule, he said. He remarked that the farmers of the state suffered the most and their produce did not get them the desired minimum price. Chandrababu Naidu was also at the receiving end of the wrath of women, he asserted.

Before the elections, Chandrababu Naidu kept saying that in order to get jobs people must elect Babu (Job kavalante Babu ravali) was his refrain. To this day these jobs have not been generated. After four years Chandrababu Naidu was shedding crocodile tears over special category status while his ministers continued in the union Cabinet he said.

Certain media outlets help Chandrababu Naidu and his propaganda campaign, YS Jagan observed. Through those media houses he makes statements like the Centre is performing creditably and that it would grant huge funds to AP. These media organisations keep harping on the fact that a special package is more important than special category status. Strangely enough, Chandrababu Naidu who said that special category status was like a magic cure or Sanjeevini, now claims that special package for Andhra Pradesh would be beneficial. Similarly, Union Minister Sujana Chowdary, TDP MP also said that there was more to be lost than gained from the special category status.

YS Jagan observed that TDP leaders were mortgaging the interests of the state through such conspiracies. Afraid of cases pending against him and scared that a probe would be ordered, Chandrababu Naidu has pledged the interests of Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP chief asserted. He also said that 1.42 lakh job vacancies needed to be filled up and Chandrababu’s empty promises on this subject cost the youth of the state dear. Today unemployed youth of Andhra Pradesh want Babu to go if they have to secure jobs. Chandrababu Naidu was plundering the state on all fronts, the YSRCP chief said. From fertile lands to temple lands, Chandrababu Naidu spared nothing and his plunder was unrelenting, he said. The YSRCP President sought suggestions of people on Navarathnalu and added that his party would usher in Rajanna Rajyam which would take care of all sections of society.
