Tirupati: YSR Congress Party leader and Nagari MLA Roja offered prayers at Lord Venkateshwara hill shrine in Tirumala this morning. Later speaking to media, Roja lambasted Telugu Desam Party and said that they had insulted the temple priest Ramana Deekshithulu, who was shown the door by the party. She said the act was nothing but a proof of AP Chief Minister N Chandrbabu Naidu's tyranny.
She further said that government had to step down and allow limited pilgrims into the temple during Maha Samprokshanam. YSRCP and others had staged a protest against 'no darshan' for six days in Tirumala. MLA Roja also demanded to oust the TTD officials who hurt the sentiments of the devotees.
The Nagari MLA said that the TTD officials to put up the details of temple jewellery online. She reminded that JEO Srinivas had earlier promised to put up the temple jewellery online. Since the people were expressing suspicion over the missing jewellery of the temple, it was the government's responsibility to disclose the details and make them online, Roja said.
She also raised the issue of a pregnant woman who lost her baby after she walked 12 km to a hospital in Vizianagaram saying that the incident took place due to lack of medical services in the area. "Chandrababu does not have any concern over Dalit and tribal communities, hence he has not appointed any minister for tribal welfare," Roja added.
