Kurnool: The YSRCP leaders met the collector of
Kurnool district today to discuss about the farmer’s issues. They appealed that
government is not fair in declaring the famine zones. It is for the first time
as ever experienced a famine in Kurnool district in the state and requested
that the district should be declared under famine zone. Demanded that
government should know the facts related to the drought conditions by going to
the villages and finding out from the farmers associations and farmers.
The YSRCP leaders fired on the failure of the State and central governments in supporting farmers and not bothered to help farmers. The leaders asked Naidu to correct himself in framing the rules to Rayalseema equivalent to Krishna and Godavari districts. The leaders also claimed that, so far there is no evidence of providing subsidy to the famine zones though the government has declared the areas as famine zones. They mentioned and made it clear that YSRCP will support the farmers
