Disqualify Chintamaneni: YSRCP

Hyderabad: Demanding the disqualification of the convicted TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, YSR Congress has said that it is unfortunate that neither the Chandrababu Naidu nor the Assembly Secretary had so far initiated any action against him.
‘Any leader who is convicted for more than two years should be disqualified as per the Representation of People’s Act 1951 but there is no action against the Denduluru MLA even 48 hours after the pronouncement of the verdict,’ Party senior leader Perni Venkateswara Rao (Nani) told reporters here on Thursday.
The Chief Minister who claims that he is the most experienced politician of the state has been silent so far on the issue which shows his intent. We demand that the convicted MLA be disqualified with immediate effect to upkeep the democratic spirit of the country, he said.
The court ruling makes the TDP MLA ineligible to contest for the next election as well, he said and demanded that the Assembly Secretary should initiate action immediately to disqualify him.
The Chief Minister who had boasted of good governance, smart governance and the data bank on his dash board to Reliance Chief Mukhesh Ambani, should also have told him about how surgeries were taking place in Guntur Government hospital under the Cell Phone lights as there was power failure, he said.
