Democratic Character of AP Lost under Chandrababu: Vijay Sai Reddy

YSR Congress Party National General Secretary Vijaya Sai Reddy accused Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of ruling the state against the spirit of the constitution. He criticised

that opposition, women, dalits and media are all being unduly targeted by the ruling TDP, which is amassing wealth illegal accumulation of money. Speaking to media persons in Visakhapatnam alongside YSRCP's senior leader Ummareddy Venkateswarulu, he said Chandrababu is very much capable of managing and manipulating the democratic institutions.

By appointing a few YSRCP MLAs as minister after 22 MLAs had crossed over, the chief minister has killed the constitutional and democratic character of the government, observed Vijaya Sai Reddy. This is the first time we are witnessing MLAs who have changed parties being made into ministers, he mentioned. He pointed out the government machinery was clearly working in support of one community while deriding others.

Vijay Sai Reddy accused Chandrababu Naidu of changing the land acquisition laws to suit his requirement for allotting projects to his own people and transferring the money accumulated through such deals to foreign countries. He also observed that even with regard to the appointment of DGP, he made sudden changes to ensure that he got his own man appointed. Chandrababu Naidu is trying to control digital media by introducing Fiber Grid; he is blocking all the channels that are against him or that he doesn't like, he said.

YSRCP General Secretary accused Babu of being hand-in- glove with the anti-social elements. He said that even after YSRCP workers were brutally killed in broad daylight, no arrests were made. He went on to add Special Status would serve as lifeline for AP and his party will continue to fight till it is achieved.
