Nandyal: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has no right to seek votes from Dalit community as the TDP government suppressed the community even to enjoy their own rights accorded in the Constitution.
Speaking to the media in Nandyal on Tuesday, YSR Congress Party SC cell President Meruga Nagarjuna alleged that Chandrababu did not take any steps towards abolition of the menace of untouchability. The CM also failed in curbing the spate of attacks on Dalits in Andhra in the recent times.
The recent incident of attack on Dalits in Garagaparru village and East Godavari gave a clear indication that the Dalits are not safe in the state. The YSR Congress leader questioned Chandrababu for maintaining stoic silence on such incidents. Government also snatched away lands from Dalits in Devarapalli village in Prakasham district, he said.
Chandrababu also made dysfunctional the SC Corporation by not allocating funds. Former Chief minister late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy strengthened the corporation by providing sufficient funds, the YSRCP leader added.
