Chittor, Jan 24, 2013:
Congress activists kidnapped YSR Congress party candidate Sahadeva Naidu when
he was proceeding to file his nomination papers for Co-operative society
elections here on Thursday.
Despite a complaint being
lodged by the YSR Congress leaders and activists over the kidnap incident,
police failed to act.
Meanwhile, reacting to
the postponement of the Cooperative elections for 11 societies in the district
by the district election authorities, YSR Congress party leader Chevireddy
Bhaskara Reddy said the officials postponed the elections as there were no
Congress candidates to contest.
He said he would
approach the courts challenging the Government’s orders issued late last night
postponing the polls.
