Cong formed Govt thanks to YSR: Sharmila
17 Nov 2012 2:35 PM
Sharmila, who has taken
up Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress president Y.S.
Jagan Mohan Reddy, has stated the Congress party formed Government in the state
and at the Centre in 2004 and 2009 thanks to YSR.
“YSR brought victory in
the last two elections to the Congress enabling it form Governments in both
Hyderabad and Delhi,” Sharmila told a huge public meeting at Yemmiganur in
Kurnool district during the course of her Padayatra on Friday.
Sharmila said YSR
worked as a loyal soldier for Congress Party for 30 years but he was rewarded
with his name being included in the FIR after his death. “Is it not injustice
and backstabbing?”She questioned.
Sharmila said the
Congress Government has been harassing not only the YSR family through filing
cases against Jagan Mohan Reddy but the people of the state also through
imposing new taxes and hiking power and RTC charges.
“The Government wants
to remove the memories of YSR from your hearts through its acts,” she alleged.
She also said it was unfortunate that the Congress party or Government had
failed to keep its promise of rendering financial aid to the families of those
who died of heart attacks after the tragic death of YSR.
Party Central Governing
Council (CGC) member Konatala Rama Krishna and MLAs Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy,
Sobha Nagi Reddy and Y.Balanagi Reddy accompanied Sharmila on Friday during the
Padayatra.
