Chiranjeevi demands Sub-plan for BCs

Hyderabad, August 27: Congress Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi on Sunday appealed to the State Government to consider a similar sub-plan for the Backward Classes in the State.

Talking to media persons, Chiranjeevi said that the Sub-committee's recommendations on SC/ST Sub-plan would benefit under privileged communities and prevent misuse of funds.

Terming the recommendations of sub-committee as historic, he said that making a stringent law on utilization of funds would improve the standards of their lives of SCs and STs. It would also bring transparency in spending the funds, he said.

Chiranjeevi also stressed the importance of bringing a Sub-plan for Backward Class communities on the lines of SCs and STs. He demanded that both the Centre and State allot more seats for the BCs in the law making bodies.
