Chittoor: YSR Congress Party MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy is continuing his indefinite fast in the Chittoor Jail. Today is the third day of his fast. Another 35 persons, who were arrested along with him, too are on a fast.
The MLA and his supporters were arrested after they staged protests demanding that the garbage dumping yard in Ramapuram in Ramachandrapuram mandal of Chittoor district be shifted. Chevireddy, now in jail, made it clear that he would continue his protest till the Government shifts the dumping yard.
Chevireddy and his associates were produced before the Puttur First Class Judicial Magistrate on Saturday. The magistrate sent him in judicial remand for 14 days and accordingly, Chevireddy was shifted to Chittoor sub-jail.
