YSRCP has held agitations in protest for the removal of the statue of former CM and legendary leader YS Rajasekhar Reddy. The party expressed fury in front of police control room in Vijayawada about the removal of the statue against regulations. Chandrababu's mannequin was put on fire in various places. A candlelight vigil was held protesting against the Government's atrocities.
YSRCP cadre made it clear that the great leader cannot be removed from his place in the hearts of people just by removing his statues. They raised slogans against Chandrababu. Krishna district's party president Parthasarathy and Vijayawada's president Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, official spokesman of the party Jogi Ramesh, MLAs Uppuleti Kalpana, Rakshana Nidhi, Meka Pratap Apparao and other leaders met collector Apparao regarding removal of statues and submitted a memorandum.
YSRCP's senior leader Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy visited the place where the statue of YSR had been removed from. Speaking on this occasion, he stated that he was the one who had allowed the establishment of the statue as the in-charge minister of that time. He slammed its removal in spite of meeting all the required permissions. He demanded restoration of the statue in the same place.
YSRCP leader Golla Baburao mentioned that the removal of statue hurt feelings of many people. He condemned CM Chandrababu's statements about the removal of statues. He cautioned that Chandrababu's Government would face severe consequences if the statue was not restored right away.
