Hyderabad: Leaders of the YSR Congress party (YSRCP) condemned the yellow media's distortion of facts on the attack on Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. In this context, the YSRCP leaders convened an emergency meeting to discuss the developments.
Speaking to media after the meeting, senior leaders Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, Ambati Rambabu and Parthasarathi condemned the attitude of the TDP leaders and AP DGP with respect to the incident. They demanded that an investigation by an independent body be ordered into the matter.
"Chandrababu's life is full of criminal activities. His Delhi tour is aimed at attacking the YSRCP. Although YS Jagan is ready to begin his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, we requested him to take rest for a few days. The rumours over YS Jagan's humiliation of the AP Police are not true," they clarified.
Parthasarathi said that the party leaders have not asked an investigation by the Telangana State Police, while Ambati Babu said the party leaders never insulted the officials.
"Chandrababu's comments are objectionable. Since Chandrababu is capable of influencing the local investigative agencies, we are demanding a probe by an independent authority in the matter. Chandrababu and the DGP are trying to protect the accused in the case," Ambati said.
