Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party MP Vijaya Sai Reddy criticised TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and described him as an opportunist. The YSRCP MP said that Chandrababu should understand the fact that after the 11 states were granted Special Category Status (SCS) numerous companies have been established in those states and many people have been employed. The YSRCP cadre across the state was taking up relay fast and protests were being organised in support for the demand for SCS to AP.
Vijaya Sai Reddy participated in a camp organised by YSRCP cadre near GVMC Gandhi Statue in Visakhapatnam today and later talking to the media persons, he accused the AP CM of being insincere in his stance on achieving SCS to the state and this was noticed by people also. He said the TDP chief said that bandhs were of no use. The YSRCP MP recalled the numerous occasions when Chandrababu had called for a bandh while he was out of power. He pointed out that the TDP MPs had only resigned from the NDA cabinet, but continue to be MPs. "If you (Chandrababu) are sincere in achieving SCS to AP, ask your MPs to resign immediately," he demanded.
