Chandrababu lacks sincerity to resolve problems

Sabbavaram, Visakhapatnam District: YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed a massive public meeting here today. He said that when he was looking at the Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Law University, students told him that it was thanks to the late Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his decision to set up law university in AP and in particular in Sabbavaram that they could study law.

Wherever he went in Pendurthi constituency, people complained of land-grabbing, tampering of records and even compensation being claimed by ruling TDP leaders in the name of proxies. The constituency has the unfortunate association of being the place where a dalit woman was stripped by ruling partymen. People told him about the pervasive corruption in the ruling party beginning right at the top with 'Pedda Babu' and 'Chinna Babu'and filtering down to MLAs, leaders and officials.

YS Jagan said that the TDP leaders had plot to grab 540 acres of assigned land from poor farmers in the name of land pooling.

As per the law one cannot buy assigned land and yet is being done in the name of land pooling. This land is being turned into plots and sold. The YSRCP chief said that people protesting against this injustice are being harassed and punished.

YS Jagan cited other instances of land being taken away forcibly and registration of documents in the name of their proxies. All these unlawful activities are backed by Chandrababu and his son, Lokesh.

The YSRCP chief pointed out that lake beds in Pendurthi constituency were dug up indiscriminately across the region. The local MLA undertook fake fasts and made false promises, he reminded the huge audience present at the mammoth meeting. The MLA said that he would give up his post if the problem cannot be resolved, Chandrababu also made similar claims four and half years ago and now elections are around the corner once again, with all his poll promises of 2014 remaining unfulfilled.

YS Jagan asserted that Chandrababu lacks the sincerity to resolve the many problems that the state is beset with. When the YSRCP comes to power, it will resolve all pending problems, he assured the audience. The YSRCP chief said that his party was committed to resolving the NTPC issue and resettling people affected by pollution after ensuring that they get a fair and jsut compensation.

YS Jagan pointed out that during Dr. YSR's time, welfare governance was prioritised, SEZ in Visakhapatnam was set up and over 25000 people found employment, while in the pharma city which YSR turned into a reality,

12000 people found employment.

The YSRCP chief pointed out that there were no jobs under Chandrababu to locals though the companies here wanted land of the local populace. He assured the people at the meeting that under YSRCP the very first assembly session will pass a bill guaranteeing 75% job reservation for locals.

He said that there were widespread irrigation and drinking water problems which will be addressed by the YSRCP on a war footing. YS Jagan said that farmers were not getting their due and that cooperative sugar factories were in a state of decline or closure. They would be revived once YSRCP came to power, he asserted.

YS Jagan stated that had Special Category Status been achieved things would have been a lot better. SCS to the state would have brought in more investments and industries in all sectors, he said.

The YSRCP chief cited Polavaram as a classic case study of TDP corruption. The work was still in its initial stages and estimates continued to be revised, escalating the costs. The chief minister ensured that contracts were awarded to proxy sub-contractors of the ruling party, including Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu's close relative, he pointed out.

Thousands of teachers' jobs were not filled, the mid-day meal scheme watered down totally, government schools completely neglected, while the TDP leadership patronised private schools owned by its proxies.

The fee reimbursement scheme was totally diluted while Arogyasri had become a token scheme, YS Jagan pointed out. He told the massive audience present at the meeting that once the YSRCP came to power, Rajanna Rajyam would be ushered in based on Navarthnalu. He also sought suggestions from people on welfare governance.
