Chandrababu damaged the prospects of AP

Nellore: YSR Congress Party MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy stated that despite everyone opposing the state's bifurcation, Congress and BJP went ahead and divided the state. He criticised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and said that over the last four years BJP had not fulfilled any promise that was made to the state, and yet the CM was happy about it.

Mekapati added that YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had understood that Special Category Status (SCS) was a panacea to AP, and this was the reason the party Chief continued his relentless fight for achieving SCS from the day the state was bifurcated. "Chandrababu damaged the prospects of the state and now he has changed his stance from BJP because he understood that the Modi wave was diminishing," he said.

The YSRCP MP said that there was an effort by the ruling TDP government to project all the failures in the state on to BJP. On the other hand, he once again confirmed that YSRCP would go it alone in the next elections, he said. He added that Chandrababu was trying to spread rumours that YSRCP was in alliance with BJP. He said that the YSRCP would organise Vanchana Pi Garjana (Deception Day) on June 2 in Nellore to protest against the negligent attitude of State and Central governments with regard to allotting SCS to AP.
