Chandrababu compromised on SCS

Hyderabad, June 6: YSR Congress has said that Chandrababu Naidu has compromised on the Special Category Status (SCS) issue fearing the backlash on the cash for vote case and has placed personal interests ahead of state interests.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday Party MLA RK Roja said, ‘ in the first assembly session the Special Category Status (SCS) was categorically mentioned in the Governor’s Address but was conveniently forgotten after the scam surfaced.
In the Governor’s Address it was clearly mentioned that the state would mount pressure on the Centre to get SCS to the state for 10 to 15 years in lieu of Hyderabad and all other provisions of the State Reorganisation Act be implemented.
Even the state assembly has passed a resolution twice seeking SCS but now Chandrababu Naidu has been changing tune and speaking in terms of special package which cannot be a match to SCS. The top industrialists within the TDP, including Galla Jayadev and others will give a full assessment of the benefits of the SCS.
When YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has pressed for a debate in the Assembly the Chief Minister has run away from the debate which shows his nature of being compromise on the vital issue.
During his speech at Amaravathi, he has been speaking in terms of special package and we reiterate that there is no substitute for SCS as only through special status can we see development in the state.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has raised the subject in the very first session of the assembly and has been fighting for it ever since. He has taken the fight to Delhi as well besides organizing deekshas and meetings to create awareness among the students on the benefits of SCS, how it generates jobs and help the youth, she said.
