Hyderabad, Facing opposition from his party leaders Chief Minister N Chandababu Naidu has been fumbling on the issue of special status, YSR Congress has said and reaffirmed that their struggle will continue relentlessly till the goal of special status is achieved.
‘The experienced Chief Minister has fumbled while using the words special package and special status which exposes his double speak and double standards and he is cheating the people again,’ party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters here on Friday.
The normal protocol is that whenever the Prime Minister visits a state, he will seek a report from the concerned state about the expectations of the people and Party in power.
‘It is for Chandrababu Naidu to reveal the report and prove that the issue of special status was included in it or not. Even his party leaders and MPs have gone on record expressing their disappointment as the State could not elicit any concrete assurance from the Prime Minister.
This shows the mood of the people and will continue the fight for special status, he said adding that it is not soil and water but respecting the sentiments of the people and parliament that counts with regard to the special status.
‘If Chandrababu Naidu is mortgaging the interest of the state and special status to get out of the serious corruption charges he is facing, people will not spare him and the fight for special status will continue and intensify,’ he said.
