Big 'Power Scam' In AP!

Andhra Pradesh state embroiled in scams in the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s government.  Even before the multi crore scam in the construction of Polavaram project was erased from the people’s memory, another  big scam in Energy department has  come to light in the state.

The AP government has been  spending excess on the purchase of power through power exchange.  On the pretext of achieving  round the clock power supply status,  the government was purchasing power by spending crores of rupees.

Reports says that AP was spending Rs 6.25 crore for the purchase of one Megawatt power.  It was 1.40 crore higher than the expenditure incurred by the neighbouring Telangana state.

YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy exposed the power scam during his Padayatra in Kukkalapalli village in Anantapur district.  A group of contract employees working in electricity department met YS Jagan and requested for the regularization of their services.

Speaking on the occasion, YS Jagan said Chandrababu exploited the power utilities Transco and Genco for his own monetary benefits. The energy sector was riddled with scams in the TDP government.  The YSR Congress chief  promised that all employees will be regularised soon after he assumed CM office.
