BC Welfare Not Mere Slogan For YSRCP: YS Jagan

Leader of the Opposition and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on

Saturday charged the ruling Telugu Desam with duping every caste and community in the state with false promises.

Addressing a BC conclave organised at Garladinne in Singanamala constituency as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he said that at the time of 2014 elections, Chandrababu Naidu had promised that he would include Kurumas and Rajakas into SC category and Boyas in ST category. But not one of the assurances was fulfilled. He said none of the castes were happy with the TDP rule.

He said Chandrababu Naidu has not even bothered to call on the kin of the handloom weavers who had ended their lives. He promised Rs 1 lakh loan without interest, but has never implemented it. He said the BCs were deprived after the TDP came to power.

He said Chandrababu Naidu was systematically weakening flagship welfare schemes like fee reimbursement, Arogya Sri, 108 and others which would immensely benefit the BC communities. He said he would strive to fulfill the dreams of the people of the state. He said that his Navaratnalu was the panacea for the problems being faced by all sections of the people, including the BCs. He said the YSRCP would allot one MP seat to the BCs in Anantapur district.

A large number of BC leaders, party workers and others were present at the BC conclave.
