AP Is Unfortunate To Have Chandrababu as CM

Nellore: It is unfortunate that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu who had promised employment to the youth of Andhra Pradesh is globetrotting without any concern for the state, said the Leader of AP Opposition and YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra at Naidupeta in Nellore district. He pointed out that Chandrababu had travelled abroad 22 times in the last four years, but was not able to generate a single job.

YS Jagan said that Chandrababu was burdening the state exchequer by travelling in chartered flights and spent as much as Rs 200 crore only for this purpose. He promised that once YSRCP came to power, the common citizen will not have to suffer to earn his livelihood in the state.
The YSRCP Chief pointed out that it was unfortunate for the people of AP to have Chandrababu as the chief minister. While there was scope for paddy cultivation in one lakh hectares in Nellore district, only 39,000 hectares were being cultivated, he explained and added that people in Nellore district were fortunate to have some water in Somasila project, without which they would have starved.

YS Jagan was critical about the chief minister's attitude and explained to the people that during the late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure, 80 % work related to the Pothipadu Head Regulator had been completed. Chandrababu Naidu did not bother to complete the rest. Dr. YSR ensured that most of the work related to Somasila Swarnamukhi Canal had been completed and Rs. 120 crores had already been spent, but the present dispensation failed to complete the little bit of work that was left over, even though the government had four long years to do it. If only they complete the project, 316 lakes in Nellore district will brim with water and the district will become prosperous.

Chandrababu is becoming famous for inaugural ceremonies, while the actual work is not happening. YS Jagan cited the examples of Krishnapatnam and Duggarajapatnam port. The financial SEZ established in Nellore district was catering to people from other states while local youth are left to work as security guards and watchmen, the AP Leader of Opposition said.

Lashing out at Chandrababu for his false promises and commitments, the YSRCP President said the CM did nothing to build the state capital. The capital city in these four years did not have a building for the high court, the state secretariat or assembly. Chandrababu Naidu however, made digital presentations, where he tried telling people that work got completed. YS Jagan expressed his astonishment over movie-maker Rajamouli being bestowed the responsibility to build the capital city. He said that an architect should do his job, and by the same token, a film director should do his. The YSRCP Chief listed out the various failures of the present government like power tariff being increased three times in the last four years, instead of waiver; fuel prices being the highest among the neighbouring states; PDS made virtually non-functional, etc.

Arogyasri has been made redundant and is not valid in neighbouring states. Hyderabad had been the capital city of undivided Andhra Pradesh for 60 years and had excellent healthcare facilities, but today the Arogyasri scheme from AP was no longer valid in Hyderabad! On calling 104 or 108 we are told that there is no fuel to run the ambulances or that the vehicles have no tyres. This was an exemplary scheme under Dr. YSR’s leadership, he observed. He added that under Arogyasri dumb and deaf children are not being treated, cancer patients are given chemotherapy only twice, and the network hospitals' dues are pending. If the YSRCP comes to power with the blessings of the people, he assured the large gathering that any medical bill above Rs 1000 would be covered by Arogyasri. Financial support to the family of the patient would also be provided, in addition to the provision of Rs 10,000 as pension to Thalassemia patients, he said.
