AP to have people's government in two years: YS Jagan

East Godavari: Coming down heavily on AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP chief and opposition leader in AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday predicted that the TDP would stay in power only for another two years. Soon after the 2019 elections, people's government (YSRCP) would rule the State, he said. Welcoming the construction of Polavaram Project being funded by the Centre, the YSRCP president said that it is equally important for the State government to fairly compensate the Tribals who parted with their lands.

As part of his two-day tour,YS Jagan met the people of submergence mandals under the Polavaram project. YS Jagan found fault with the government's negligent attitude against the victims affected by the project. He recalled how the arrangements were made for the construction of the Polavaram project during the tenure of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The people had given their lands with a thought that the project would be for a public cause, YS Jagan recalled. He expressed anger saying that the present government had so far given nothing to the victims. He called upon the people to teach a fiting lesson to Chandrababu Naidu in the coming elections. "This responsibility is upon all of us," YS Jagan said. He alleged that Naidu, who show much focus on the contractors, has no concern on the affected Girijans.

Alleging that Naidu snatched away the lands of the poor people in the name of land pooling after coming to power, YS Jagan said not even single acre had been allocated to the poor so far in the three years of Naidu's rule. The State government is not listening to the woes of the poor people who were left in the lurch after their lands were snatched away, YS Jagan said. He also recalled how YSR gave rights to the poor Tribals over the lands in the agency areas.
