AP govt Resorts To Another Big ' Anti Farmer' Activity at New Capital

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has taken another anti farmer decision. The officials of the CRDA ( Capital Region Development Authority ) closed all the canals passing through the new capital in Amaravathi without any prior information to the farmers owned the lands around the upcoming city.
The CRDA officials brought procalinors and filled the canals with sand . Angered farmers Immediately staged dharna. The farming community said the court already gave directions to the Guntur Collector not to close the canals. The government's attempt to obstruct water flow in the canals attracted the contempt of the court.
YSR Congress party MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conspired to destabilise the farming sector by depriving the farmers of irrigation water in the capital area and occupy their lands at throw away price for realty purpose.
