Senior TDP leader Khaleel Basha joined the YSR Congress
Hyderabad: Senior TDP leader Khaleel Basha from Kadapa district has joined the YSR Congress in the presence of party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the latter's Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad.
Speaking in this regard, Khaleel Basha stated that YSRCP is the only party working for the welfare of minorities and added that he wants YS Jagan to be the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Kadapa MLA Amzad Basha also joined the party.
Several senior leaders and officials have joined YSRCP in the past few months. Some of them include TDP MLA Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy, Former MLAs Dommeti Venkateshwarlu, Abdul Gani, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and retired DIG C Esuratnam.
Reports also surfaced that senior leaders from YSRCP are contemplating quitting the party, however, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy recently ruled out the option.
The Mekapati brothers, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy were denied tickets recently with YS Jagan stating the reason to be survey reports, which were against Mekapati. Following this, reports were doing the rounds that the Mekapati brothers will quit YSRCP, however, they set the record straight by saying that they would continue with the party.
