Former MP and senior leader of the YSR Congress Party YV Subba Reddy

Eluru: Former MP and senior leader of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) YV Subba Reddy said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had cheated the people of the State by ignoring his 2014 election promises. Addressing the East Godavari district YSRCP booth-level committee meeting here on Sunday, he said Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSR Congress Party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy carried out the padayatra over a span of 15 months to get a comprehensive idea of public issues and to explain the benefits of Navaratnas.

YV Subba Reddy said that the Navaratnas would benefit all sections of the society and that the nine schemes would ensure overall growth of the State. He explained that Chandrababu deceived the 5 crore population of the State on the Special Category Status (SCS). The attack on YS Jagan was carried out with the support of Chandrababu and AP DGP, he added.

Recalling the DGP's swift media conference soon after the attack, the former MP said the police are trying to divert the case in the wrong direction. He said the NIA probe would extract the truth behind the attack.

The YSRCP leader further said the YSRCP booth-level workers would work like soldiers and ensure the party assumes power in the upcoming elections
