YSRCP demands suspension of TDP MLA
Nandyal, August 22: YSRCP leaders of Nandyal demanded that Srisailam TDP MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy should be booked under SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act for assaulting and kidnapping forest officials.
They said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu must suspend him from TDP immediately if he is serious about justice.
Addressing media here on Friday, district president Katasani Rambhoopal Reddy, former MLAs Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy and Katasani Ram Reddy, and MLC Ishak Basha condemned the incident as a shocking example of lawlessness under the coalition.
They recalled that MLA Rajasekhar Reddy, allegedly in a drunken state, attacked officials from SC, ST, and minority communities, used caste abuses, and kept them confined for hours at a guesthouse.
The unprecedented brutality against public servants sends a dangerous message to society, they said.
The leaders said such incidents add to a disturbing trend, citing cases of Guntur East MLA Nazir Ahmed harassing his own worker and Amudalavalasa MLA Koona Ravi Kumar tormenting a woman Principal. Yet, they noted, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan have remained silent.
They demanded non-bailable charges and strict legal action, warning that unchecked arrogance of ruling party leaders erodes public trust. YSRCP leaders pledged to stand with victims from marginalized communities and called for swift justice to protect democratic values.
