Tadepalli, Sept 13: YSRCP has strongly condemned the false news items published by vernacular media, which tried to link YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to the Emaar Properties case and labeled him as accused No. 1.
Addressing the media at the party central office in Tadepalli, YSRCP official spokesperson Putta Shiva Shankar Reddy said such reports were baseless, malicious, and aimed only at pleasing Chandrababu Naidu.
He questioned how YS Jagan could be named in a case where court records clearly state that the main accused (A1) is Bibhu Prasad Acharya. He challenged the vernacular media to show a single piece of evidence linking YS Jagan to the case. "This is not journalism. This is an attempt to bury media values and mislead people with fabricated stories," he said.
He pointed out that a practicing lawyer and businessman named Sunil Reddy was shown as a close associate of YS Jagan and dragged into the liquor case without any proof. "In the last five years, can they prove he ever visited or interfered in any matter here? If they claim SIT has found evidence in searches, let them present which officer confirmed it," he demanded.
He accused vernacular media of routinely creating imaginary stories around the liquor case, from gold and factories abroad to assets in Dubai, without any factual basis. "For Chandrababu’s happiness, they are turning journalism into propaganda and writing lies," he said, adding that this was nothing but an attempt to falsely project YS Jagan as guilty.
Putta Shiva Shankar Reddy demanded that the publisher tender an immediate public apology for publishing such falsehoods. "If not, we will pursue legal action. People have already lost faith in this kind of journalism. These baseless writings have reduced the value of such publications to nothing," he warned.
