Vijayawada: Official Spokesperson of the YSR Congress party (YSRCP) Parthasarathi today lashed out at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government for ignoring the interests of the Agrigold victims.
Speaking to media at the party's State office here, he mentioned that out of the 32 lakh agrigold victims across the country, more than 20 lakh people were from Andhra Pradesh. He said that Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who had deceived the victims, was the culprit behind the suicide of 200 Agrigold victims in the last four years. The government's failure in tackling the Agrigold issue is clearly evident, he added.
Parthasarathi said that some of the TDP leaders were trying to confuse people on the Agrigold issue, although Agrigold possesses more assets than liabilities. It is cruel on part of the government to ignore the problems of 14 lakh families by releasing Rs 1,180 crore, he remarked.
Why is Chandrababu Naidu scared of handing over the probe to CBI in the issue, the YSRCP leader questioned. Demanding that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should also respond to the issue, he said that Chandrababu was an expert in scheming. He questioned whether Chandrababu undertood the meaning of fees reimbursement.
Complete waiver of fees for eligible students and abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) should be done immediately, he demanded.
