New Delhi, Reiterating that YSR Congress is against the acquisition of multi-crop land from farmers for the capital formation, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said his Party will oppose any anti-people policy of the State and will play the role of a construction opposition. Speaking to media here on Sunday after submitting a representation to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, he said: “ We have given memorandum on various issues including the way in which land is being acquired by CRDA, situation arising out of water sharing dispute, Polavaram, new railway lines, industrial development, special status, financial packages and the like. This is the third time I am coming to the national capital and have also sought the appointment of Prime Minister and Railway Minister to submit our views.”We have told the Union Home Minister in detail about how regional passions are being whipped and water sharing dispute has taken an ugly turn and the plight of farmers affected by CRDA policy. We are opposed to the acquisition of multi-crop land from farmers and will stand by them, he said. While Congress, BJP and TDP voted in favour of the State Reorganisation Bill, no provision was made in it on special status which is the crux of the problem, he said adding that this is the third time in eight months, he is coming to the national capital to submit letters on State’s interests ahead of the budget session adding that his Party will play the role of a constructiveopposition both at State and the Centre.
