Ever since the Income Tax sleuths conducted raids on Andhra minister P Narayana, Sujana Choudary, MP CM Ramesh and other TDP leaders, the talk of continuation of the raids on ruling party leaders and the target of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken the centre stage in Andhra politics.
The TDP Chief has been exploiting his office since he came to power in 2014 and amassed wealth by looting public money. The central investigating agencies already got inputs that Chandrababu is preparing plans to spend the ill gotten money to win next elections. Reports already confirmed that TDP won Nandyal assembly by elections by spending money like water.
To counter Chandrababu's money centric politics, the BJP led union government adopted a strategy under which income tax raids were conducted on the houses of the CM's close aides. There were also evidences that Chandrababu already extended financial support to Congress and Janata Dal in the recently held Karnataka Assembly elections and in the poll bound Telangana also, he is the big financier for Congress.
The TDP Chief is already giving leaks to the media that he is targeted and income tax, Enforcement Directorate and other investigating agencies are getting ready to raid his residences in Hyderabad and Amaravati. He also unfolded a drama to get the people's sympathy by saying that he is targeted for revolting against the Center on Andhra issues mainly special status.
Political circles are agog with a talk that whether the investigating agencies raid Chandrababu as part of continuation of its big exercise to unearth black money from the possession of TDP leaders. The investigation into the corruption allegations in alloting contract works , land grabbing and allotment of costly lands at throw away prices is also under pipe line. The only big question haunting the political circles in Andhra is whether the probing agencies are ready to book cases against Chandrababu and send him to jail before the elections.
