Srikakulam: YSR Congress party (YSRCP) leader Thammineni Seetharam lambasted Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu for failing to save the victims of Cyclone Titli. Saying that the government officials were nowhere to be seen in the cyclone-hit areas in the district, he asked why the government was filing false cases against the victims who were demanding relief measures.

Speaking to media here today, he said that the Chandrababu government completely failed in saving the cyclone victims. Is this what Chandrababu, who is trying to turn the cyclone into a political issue, could achieve with his 40 years of political experience? he asked.

Thammineni further said that minister Atchannaidu was speaking irresponsibly. "The government should immediately take relief measures in the cyclone-hit areas. While the Centre is staying mum on the assistance for the relief operations, the State government completely failed in addressing basic issues," he expressed.

Even as the opposition parties criticize the TDP for its failure in saving the victims suffering due to the natural calamity, the State government did not respond in time for carrying out relief measures.

The senior YSRCP leader asked Chandrababu Naidu, who always bragged about his technological prowess, to take a leaf in disaster management out of the book of his counterpart in the neighbouring state of Odisha. He added that the Odisha government had sounded timely alerts and carried out relief operations promptly.
