Muslims have been given their due share in the legislative bodies by alloting good number of seats in the Assembly election under the leadership of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
YSR Congress MLA Amjad Bhasha said the welfare schemes launched by former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy helped minorities to grow educationally and economically. YSR's Fee reimbursement scheme, 4 percent reservation in jobs and education and self employment schemes have been considered as most popular schemes for Muslims in the country.
YS Jagan also alloted four tickets to minorities where as TDP gave only one seat to minorities in 2014 elections. The YSR Congress leader said Muslims got raw deal in Naidu government. The minority leaders were lured only to win Nandyal Assembly bye elections where Muslim population is more than 40 percent.
