Vizag: YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the local people were fed up with the governance of Chandrababu Naidu, who had delivered on none of his 2014 election promises. Chandrababu's promises of setting up a national sports academy, a tribal university, IT signature towers, Vizag metro rail, a science city, a deep water port, a road alongside the coastline between Bheemili to Kakinada, a large industry in Sampavaram, a Kuchipudi Dance Academy, a sports university and others, in Vizag are nowhere to be seen, he added.

The lands allocated for building houses for the poor under Rajiv Swagruha scheme were illegally given away to Chandrababu's benami and relative MVVS Murthy, he said. The YSRCP chief added that Chandrababu spent Rs 150 crore for the 3-day Vizag Summit.

"The Vizag Port, which has 24 berths in all, is heading towards complete privatization in Chandrababu's rule. Already, 12 of the 24 berths have been privatized. The employee count of 24,000 has come down to 4,000. The port stood no. 1 in cargo handling, but, after Chandrababu came to power, the rank slipped to 5," he mentioned.

YS Jagan said that the crime rate in the city was worsening every year in the last four years. In 2015, 16 murders were registered while in 2016, 20 people were killed. Thereafter, in 2017, 27 murders were registered and till now in 2018, 12 murder cases have been filed.

In Andhra University, out of the 953 teaching posts, more than 550 posts are lying vacant, YS Jagan said. "Instead of boosting government institutions, Chandrababu is encouraging students to join Gitam University, which is owned by his aide MVVS Murthy," he added.

The Leader of Opposition pointed out that earlier every house used to pay electricity charges between Rs 50-100 while now the charges have gone up to Rs 500-1000 per house. He observed that over the last four years the AP CM had hiked the electricity tariff thrice.
